About Kunstverein Ebersberg

The Kunstverein Ebersberg, founded in 1980, is a key institution in Bavaria’s contemporary art scene. Operating from the Alte Brennerei since 1997, it hosts exhibitions and public art projects tackling social and political issues.

Arkadia Festival #4 – Art Against War

The 2025 edition (May 2–31) invites artists to challenge narratives of conflict and present visions of hope through Art Against War. The festival encourages works that reflect on political and social upheavals while opening paths for dialogue and transformation.

Posters as a Medium for Protest

Posters have historically served as tools of protest and political expression. Art Against War leverages this medium to make powerful statements visible in public spaces, fostering conversation and awareness.

How to Apply

Who can participate?

Professional artists and artist groups worldwide, no age limits.

Submission requirements:

  • Poster draft in PDF format (max. 20 MB).
  • A short CV with contact details.
  • Portfolio of the last 10 years.
  • Deadline: March 2, 2025, at 11:59
  • PM to arkadien@kunstverein-ebersberg.de

Jury and Compensation

  • Jury decisions announced by March 8, 2025.
  • Selected artists receive a fee (pending funding approval).
  • Posters will be displayed publicly and in the Kunstverein gallery.

Print-ready files:

Selected artists must submit final files by March 15, 2025 (CMYK, 150 dpi).

Festival and Catalogue

The festival runs May 2–31, 2025, with a catalogue featuring all works. Selected pieces may be used for promotional purposes.
