This type of projects is necessary, I really believe that we live in an obsolete system at a human quality level, the art system is corrupted by the misuse of money and unfortunately I feel that culture in general is not used appropriately for the development of human beings as a tool of social transformation, we need to raise our human voices and claim an artistic space where the artists we love and support the awakening of human consciousness are heard, leaving aside political or religious ideologies, look each other in the eyes and recognize that We all want to live in peace and to do so we need to know and value ourselves as sentient human beings, recognize that our connection with our natural environment is the beginning of accepting ourselves as part of a unitary society, these thoughts are not welcome in governments that prefer separatism and division as a tool of control, using the faith of the Human Being as a weapon of violence, my artworks seeks to show that the qualities of the human soul are in us and we can find them in nature, more conscious people are more peaceful, more empathetic and altruistic beings. They want us stupid watching stupid videos on the internet, wasting our time and money on it. At first I felt bad when they rejected my work, over time and with a more mature vision, I decided that I do not paint for others or for them to accept me in all the calls, those that resonate will come, I trust and continue working because my creative process It is the path through which I have been able to stay alive and healthy in a world where being sensitive is a symptom of weakness and even more so if you are a woman, my process is my medicine and although they will infinitely reject my work I will never stop creating Art, for me it is already a vital necessity, my creativity is infinite and that is how it is in everyone. ART MAKES US FREE!
– Lola Muñoz
Lola Muñoz’s “cosmic traveller” is a mixed media piece that is a testament to the intersection of the natural world and the spiritual realm. Her artistic narrative weaves the rich tapestry of nature’s flora and fauna with celestial symbolism, reflecting a deep connection to the cycles of the cosmos. Her work is not just an artistic endeavor but an act of reverence, treating each creation as a sacred entity that bridges the gap between the earthly and the divine, the conscious and the subconscious.
The use of mixed techniques in “cosmic traveller” reflects Muñoz’s commitment to exploring the transformative power of art. Her practice extends beyond the canvas, incorporating meditation to conjure dreamlike imagery that resonates with symbols of inner knowledge. Muñoz’s work is an invitation to reconnect with the forgotten sacredness of Mother Earth, encouraging a return to the natural cycles that once dictated the human existence.
By integrating sacred geometry and dream meditations, her work is a commentary on the dissonance between humanity’s current technological trajectory and the intrinsic value of natural harmony. Each piece is an open-ended narrative, encouraging the viewer to partake in the creation of a new reality where balance between technology and nature is restored.
Muñoz’s contribution to the Salon de Refusées reflects her interdisciplinary approach, which marries traditional artistic practices with other disciplines, creating a holistic art form that speaks to the collective consciousness. Her belief that art is a transformative tool underscores the potential of her work to foster a more conscious and sensitive humanity.
SALON DE REFUSÉES
The "Salon de Refusées" is an art initiative inspired by the historic 1863 Paris exhibition. It's a platform celebrating female (read) artists who've faced rejection, turning exclusion into empowerment. Our project is dedicated to showcasing art in its most authentic form, creating a space where diverse voices and stories are seen and revered. Join us in this artistic uprising, where each piece adds to our resilience and the unyielding spirit of creativity.
