Salon de Refusées in Berlin
Die Kunstausstellung “Salon de Refusées” ist eine Antwort auf die anhaltende Unterrepräsentation von Künstlerinnen in der Kunstwelt.
Trotz zahlreicher Kunstpreise und Förderungen bleiben viele talentierte Künstlerinnen von etablierten Institutionen unbeachtet. Die Ausstellung “Salon de Refusées” stellt, in der Tradition des historischen Pariser Salon de Refusés von 1863, abgelehnte Künstlerinnen in den Fokus und bietet ihnen eine Plattform zur Präsentation ihrer Werke.
Durch die Ausstellung und eine intensive Social-Media-Präsenz soll die Sichtbarkeit der Künstlerinnen erhöht und ein Bewusstsein für die Qualität ihrer Arbeiten sowie ihre finanziellen Herausforderungen geschaffen werden.
Die Ausstellung findet vom 29. Februar bis 28. März 2024 im krautART ARTspace in Berlin statt und wird durch eine virtuelle Ausstellung, sowie Künstlerinnen-Gespräche und Workshops, ergänzt.
Salon de Refusées: Where ‘Rejected’ Art Takes Center Stage
The art exhibition “Salon de Refusées”is the contemporary artists response to the ongoing underrepresentation of female artists in the art world
Despite numerous art prizes and grants, many talented female artists remain unnoticed by established institutions. The “Salon de Refusées” exhibition, following the tradition of the historic Salon de Refusés in Paris in 1863, focuses on rejected artists and offers them a platform to showcase their works.
The exhibition aims to increase the visibility of these artists and raise awareness about the quality of their work as well as their financial challenges.
The exhibition will take place from February 29 to March 28, 2024, at the krautART ARTspace in Berlin and will be complemented by a virtual exhibition, artist talks, and workshops.

Vielen Dank an all die Künstlerinnen, die sich für den Salon de Refusées beworben haben. Es sind Bewerbungen aus 18 Ländern eingegangen und wir freuen uns riesig, dass der Open Call solch ausgeprägten internationalen Zuspruch erfahren hat!
Der Open Call zum Salon de Refusées ist am 13.12.2023 abgelaufen.
Inzwischen bereiten wir die Ausstellung vor und bewerben die teilnehmenden Künstlerinnen hier und in den sozialen Medien.

Many thanks to all the artists who applied for the Salon de Refusées. Applications were received from 18 countries and we are delighted that the Open Call received such strong international response!
The open call for the Salon de Refusées expired on December 13th, 2023.
In the meantime, we are preparing the exhibition and promoting the participating artists here and on social media.

- Wir haben jede Künstlerin kontaktiert, die sich für den Open Call beworben hat. Solltest Du keine Antwort erhalten haben, schau bitte in Deinem Spam-Ordner. Wenn Du unsere Antwort nicht finden kannst, kontaktiere uns bitte.
- Wir bereiten jetzt die Ausstellung vor und promoten Dich auf der krautART-Website und in den sozialen Medien. Dazu haben wir alle teilnehmenden Künstlerinnen um eine zusätzlichen Text gebeten, der Deine Erfahrungen mit der Ablehnung, Motivation für die Teilnahme und Gedanken zur Rolle von Ausstellungen für zeitgenössische Künstlerinnen beschreibt. Dieser wird zusammen mit der Abbildung Deines Werks auf krautart.de veröffentlicht.
- Wir benötigen außerdem Deine Website-Adresse und Instagram-Handle.
- Du kannst Dein Kunstwerks vom 12. bis 18. Februar 2024 hier anliefern. Bitte kontaktiere uns vorher, um einen Termin zu vereinbaren. Bitte versuche nicht, Dein Kunstwerk ohne vorherige Terminvereinbarung abzugeben.

In order to do so, we asked all of you for an additional statement describing your experience with rejection, your motivation for participating in the Salon de Refusées, and your thoughts on the role of exhibitions for contemporary artists. This will be published alongside the image of your work on krautart.de.

- The timeframe for the delivery of your artwork is from February 12th to February 18th, 2024. Please contact us to make an appointment. Please do not try to drop off your artwork without prior appointment.
