Kunst in der Buhaira

La Buhaira – ein Stadtteil von Sevilla, der zum Bezirk Nervión gehört – ist vom 3. bis 29. November 2017 Schauplatz der Ausstellung “Länder der Erde für Frieden und Flüchtlinge”. Im sogenannten Wartesaal (Sala de Apeadero) des Real Alcázar in Sevilla zeigen die Aquarellist*innen Andalusiens gemeinsam mit Künstlergruppen der Buhaira eine Serie von Aquarellen aus, deren Thema sich um den Überlebenskampf in einer von Kriegen erschütterten Welt und soziale Unterschiede dreht.

Die figurativen Werke haben mich emotional natürlich besonders angesprochen, doch auch die Techniken sind interessant und manchmal äußerst überraschend.

Art at the Buhaira

La Buhaira – a district of Seville, which belongs to the district of Nervión – is the scene of the exhibition “Countries of the Earth for Peace and Refugees” from 3 to 29 November 2017.

In the so-called Waiting Room (Sala de Apeadero) of the Real Alcázar in Seville, the watercolorists of Andalusia and Buhaira artists’ groups are showing a series of watercolors that deal with the struggle for survival in a war-torn world and social differences.

Emotionally the figurative works appealed to me most of course, but even in the non-figurative works the techniques are interesting and sometimes really surprising.

Länder der Erde für den Frieden und Flüchtlinge

Das Projekt basiert auf einem langen Weg, der 1998 begann, als das Buhaira Civic Center in den alten Infrastrukturen des Neomudéjar-Pavillons des Buhaira-Palastes im gleichnamigen Park eingeweiht wurde. Dieses Gebäude wurde 1892 im Auftrag von Doña Maria von Los Angeles Medina-Garbey auf den Überresten des alten Buhaira-Palastes der Almohadenzeit errichtet.

Countries of the earth for peace and refugees

The project is based on a long road that began in 1998, when the Buhaira Civic Center was inaugurated in the old infrastructures of the Neomudéjar Pavilion of the Buhaira Palace in the park of the same name. This building was built in 1892 on behalf of Doña Maria of Los Angeles Medina-Garbey on the remains of the ancient Buhaira palace of the Almohad period.
