A Fusion of Technology and Artistic Expression

The line where our bodies end and technology begins is becoming increasingly blurred, entwining our lives with digital realities once deemed a fantasy. In this transformative era, BcmA gallery embarks on an adventurous journey through its performance month, “MindAIness: Digital Intimacy,” taking place on the 10th-11th and 24th-25th May 2024, at the heart of Berlin’s art scene.

A Gateway to Digital Intimacy

In an ambitious exploration of the symbiosis between our physical existence and technological extensions, BcmA calls upon performance artists to delve into themes of bodyless beings, digital closeness, and the role of AI as an extension of our human essence. This open call seeks to unravel the complex tapestry of connections in an age where digital proximity transcends physical presence, inviting reflections on how technology shapes our expressions of intimacy and identity.

Call for Artists: A New Frontier

Artists who find resonance with concepts such as digital intimacy and the interplay between the human body and technological tools are encouraged to submit their proposals. We’re looking for diverse performance styles – from the grace of dance and the depth of theatre to the power of spoken word and the innovation of multimedia works.

In a celebration of diversity, BcmA warmly invites artists from underrepresented groups, including women, BIPOC communities, refugees, migrants, and members of the LGBTQI+ community, to share their unique perspectives and stories.

Application Guidelines:

To be part of this explorative journey, artists need to submit a proposal that includes:

  • A concise description of the envisioned performance, supported by visuals such as photos or videos.
  • Insights into the integration of the open call’s theme into the performance.
  • A list detailing any technical or logistical needs.
  • A brief biography and curriculum vitae.

Send your applications to fie.bcma@outlook.com by the 22nd of April, 2024.
