Kunstbrücke am Wildenbruch, located at the confluence of Weigandufer and Wildenbruchbrücke in Berlin, welcomes visitors from Wednesday to Sunday, 12 PM to 6 PM, to engage with Wellmer’s explorations into our interconnected existences with the non-human world.
Marcelina Wellmer‘s exhibition explores the specific urban water world on the micro level and reflects the human responsibility that is evident on the macro level in the visible anthropogenic changes to Berlin’s urban waters. Drawing on interdisciplinary scientific research and activist practices, the artist develops a fluid narrative that encompasses the entire exhibition space, using techniques such as photography, underwater video, sound recording and water data recording to combine moving and frozen images of animals, pollution and technology in context bring to. Water is presented as matter within us and as a material link between humans and non-humans, connecting all living forms in one habitat.

Die Kunstbrücke am Wildenbruch, idyllisch an der Kreuzung von Weigandufer und Wildenbruchbrücke in Berlin gelegen, öffnet ihre Türen für Besucherinnen und Besucher von Mittwoch bis Sonntag, jeweils von 12 bis 18 Uhr.
Die Ausstellung von Marcelina Wellmer erforscht die spezifische, urbanen Wasserwelt auf der Mikroebene und reflektiert die menschliche Verantwortung, die sich auf der Makroebene in den sichtbaren anthropogenen Veränderungen der Berliner Stadtgewässer zeigt. Auf der Grundlage interdisziplinärer wissenschaftlicher Forschung und aktivistischer Praktiken entwickelt die Künstlerin eine fließende, den gesamten Ausstellungsraum umhüllende Erzählung, indem sie Techniken wie Fotografie, Unterwasservideo, Tonaufnahmen und die Aufzeichnung von Wasserdaten einsetzt, um bewegte und eingefrorene Bilder von Tieren, Verschmutzung und Technologie in Zusammenhang zu bringen. Wasser wird als Materie in uns und als materielles Bindeglied zwischen Menschen und Nicht-Menschen dargestellt, das alle lebenden Formen in einem Lebensraum verbindet.
