Bern ist eine Kunststadt. Und das Artisthouse Bern bietet die perfekte Logie für KünstlerInnen und Kunstinteressierte! 

Als ich Bern zum ersten Mal besuchte, stieg ich in einem Hotel ab. Namen sind hier egal, denn die meisten Hotels nehmen sich von der Atmosphäre her nicht viel.

Dieses Mal habe ich mich jedoch im Artisthouse Bern einquartiert – und bin einfach nur glücklich: jedes Detail wurde liebevoll von der Künstlerin Cilgia Rageth arrangiert. Kunst durchflutet das ganze Haus, die Zimmer, das Treppenhaus, die Gemeinschaftsküche und -bäder. Jedes Zimmer ist individuell eingerichtet und mit Kunstwerken von Cilgia Rageth ausgestattet. Das ganze Haus strahlt eine wunderbar freundliche und kreative Atmosphäre aus.

Bern from an artist’s view

Bern is a city of the Arts. The Artist House Bern offers the perfect budget accommodation for artists and art lovers!

When I visited Bern for the first time I put up at a hotel. The name is of no concern because most hotels don’t offer much in terms of atmosphere.

This time, however, I quartered in the Artist House Bern – and I was extremely glad about it: every detail has been carefully arranged by the artist Cilgia Rageth. An atmosphere of art floods the whole house, the rooms, the staircase, the common kitchen and bathrooms. Each room is decorated and furnished individually with art works by Cilgia Rageth. The whole house exudes a wonderfully friendly and creative feeling.

Die Gemeinschaftsküche und die -bäder haben mich mit ihrer stilvollen und modernen Ausstattung überrascht. Auf sympathische und frische Art versprühen diese Räumlichkeiten den kreativen Charme und die Gemütlichkeit einer künstlerischen Wohngemeinschaft.

The shared kitchen and bathrooms surprised me with its stylish and modern amenities. In a very sympathetic and refreshing style these rooms exude the creative charm and coziness of an artistic commune.

Grosses Glück hatte ich auch mit dem Wetter: Anfang März und gefühlte 25 Grad in der Sonne. Dabei ist der grosse Garten (mit Raucher Lounge für Regenwetter) ideal, der den Frühstückskaffee in der Morgensonne ermöglicht! Und auch hier finden sich liebevoll arrangierte, künstlerische Details…I also was extremely fortunate with the weather: felt 25 degrees in the sun in early March. The large garden is ideal ( including a smoking lounge for rainy weather) as it allows coffee and breakfast in the morning sun! In the garden also you’ll find lovingly arranged artistic details …

Ein weiterer sehr erfreulicher Faktor ist der Preis: normaler Weise ist in der Schweiz auch das einfachste Hotelzimmer (zumindest in Zürich oder Bern) kaum unter 90 Fr. pro Nacht zu buchen. Das Einzelzimmer im Artisthouse kostet nur 60 Fr.

Dabei liegt das Gästehaus wunderbar zentral: mit der Tram in nur 3 min zur Zytglogge, in 5 min zum Bahnhof. Das Artisthouse liegt auf dem Berg oberhalb der Aare – runter zum Uferweg dauert auch nur ca. 5 min.

Another very encouraging factor is the price: in Switzerland the cheapest hotel rooms (at least in Zurich and Bern) hardly come below 90 Fr. per night and persona. The single room in the Artist House only costs 60 Fr.

And well, the guest house is located absolutely central: by tram in just 3 minutes for Zytglogge, in 5 min to the train station. The artist house is located on the hill above the Aare – to take a walk at the riverside it will hardly take you 5 minutes to get there.
