Information Pollution
Mixed Media Installation
45 x 170 x 45 cm

Sophia Ato

Sophia Ato from Ukraine brings to the “Salon de Refusées” at krautART ARTspace her thought-provoking installation, “information pollution.” This mixed media piece, with dimensions of 45cm x 170 cm x 45cm, serves as a three-dimensional commentary on the overwhelming impact of information overload in our daily lives.

Ato’s installation encapsulates a 3-minute loop, a metaphorical day in the life of an individual, constantly repeating, layered with the pressures and noise of the day. Her work is an immersive experience, juxtaposing two states of consciousness: the oppressive weight of daily information versus a state of clarity that allows for thought and introspection.

Through “information pollution,” Ato questions the audience: Do you hear yourself amidst this noise? Her work is a stark reminder of the constant barrage of data we face, and an invitation to find moments of silence within the chaos. The installation not only reflects the artist’s technical prowess but also her deep philosophical inquiries about modern existence and mental space in the digital age.

SALON DE REFUSÉES

The "Salon de Refusées" is an art initiative inspired by the historic 1863 Paris exhibition. It's a platform celebrating female (read) artists who've faced rejection, turning exclusion into empowerment. Our project is dedicated to showcasing art in its most authentic form, creating a space where diverse voices and stories are seen and revered. Join us in this artistic uprising, where each piece adds to our resilience and the unyielding spirit of creativity.
